CHÂTEAU DE LOUVECIENNES

Construction of a 17th century style château as a private residence in the Louveciennes national forest; the prestige building is patterned on the Vaux le Vicomte château, from which Louis XIV took inspiration in building Versailles.

• Construction of a traditional frame to support an Angers slate roof
• 15 cm thick walls of solid stone
• Use of 860 cubic metres of limestone from the Saint Maximin quarries in the Oise region for the facades and limestone from Burgundy for the terraces
• Installation of 13,000 carved stone elements ranging from triglyph friezes to the sculpted panels above each of the bay windows
