PLENDI partner of the AMOUR VIVANT exhibition

The AMOUR VIVANT biennial is the first cultural ecology biennial in France.

Following the success of the first edition, entitled “Frugal” in 2021, the Association pour un Design Soutenable has become a benchmark in France for the promotion of virtuous and sustainable creative practices in the field of design.

This year’s event, which took place from 12 to 22 October and was entitled “Amour Vivant” (Living Love), was a vibrant tribute to life, and was conceived both as a journey to the land of solutions for the times ahead and as an ode to the love of life and the earth.

This year was another success, with over 20,000 visitors!

And as one of the exhibition’s sponsors, we are delighted to have been right alongside them all the way.

Metamorphosis of the L’Oréal Group’s historic headquarters

L’Oréal’s historic headquarters, now known as “Le Visionnaire – Espace François Dalle”, on the corner of 14 rue Royale, was inaugurated on 28 September.

After two and a half years of work, this new space, with a surface area of 4,233 m2 spread over 7 levels (5 floors, ground floor and a renovated basement), has been completely renovated and redesigned to welcome employees, partners and guests of the L’Oréal Group. The space is a veritable incubator of creativity, highly digitised, hybrid and agile, offering cutting-edge expertise and a unique experience. Over the 7 levels, 21 spaces, all different, Le Visionnaire offers digital experiences designed to foster the creative process.

The complex consists of two 18th-century buildings designed by architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, whose facades and roofs are listed as historic monuments. The project, designed by the Moatti-Rivière architectural practice with the participation of Goutal Architecture et Patrimoine for the historic monument section, is characterised by a high-end, highly varied and innovative decoration, adapted to each room in the building.

The project is a symbiosis of heritage and ultra-modernity, reflecting the new vocation of the site.

A 25-metre-high glass roof is the result of extremely technical work, adding a contemporary touch.The glass roof is made up of 288 steel nodes holding together 188 glass panels.

PLENDI has finally opened the doors to the PLENDI Academy

This year saw the creation of the PLENDI Academy, organised in the workshops of our partners so that we could find out more about their trades, how a day’s work goes and their impact on our worksites.

We started with a workshop at Sofrastyl, a company specialising in staff, stucco and plasterwork. Over the course of the day, we were able to talk about how we felt about working together on the sites, and go behind the scenes of the plasterer’s trade. And finally, we got down to the nitty-gritty, leaving with our work at the end of the day.

The second session took place at Ateliers Gohard, specialists in gilding, material creation, painting and decorative painting. During this day, the PLENDI team received training in decorative painting and gilding.

These days were very rewarding, and discovering our partners’ environment and putting ourselves in their shoes for a day was a great experience for all of us.

PLENDI had the honor of organizing “Les Rencards du Beau” in collaboration with Hélène Aguilar, founder of the podcast “Où est le beau?”, as well as with the architecture and design firms RDAI and Franklin Azzi.

The first edition of “Les Rencards du Beau” took place in April 2023, in partnership with the architecture firm RDAI in Paris. In March 2024, the second edition was hosted by Franklin Azzi, also in Paris.

These events brought together several influential voices who explored innovative topics and provided answers to essential questions, guiding architecture and interior design toward more sustainable approaches.

Among the speakers, Pierre Gilbert, futurist and co-founder of Sator, presented his latest findings on bio-inspired adaptation to climate risks, highlighting the exemplary role that the luxury industry can play in this transformation. Cécile Chenais, interior designer and anthropologist, shared her expertise on the levers of influence for more responsible hotel design.

Aïna Queiroz, ethnobotanist and biologist, took the audience on a journey through global botanical inspiration. Youssef Tohmé, architect and urban planner, offered a contemporary vision of architecture, marked by a particular focus on current contexts, balancing intimacy and otherness.

Bijan Azmayesh, founder of the Ostraka architecture studio, emphasized the importance of vernacular architecture as a response to climate challenges. He illustrated how to build with simplicity and respect for the land, minimizing the need for air conditioning and heating systems.

Other engaging discussions addressed the principles of organizational biomimicry, inspired by insects, fungi, and plants, to reinvent our infrastructures and ways of living. Julia Turpin, an architect at the cooperative Grand Huit, offered perspectives on living spaces that respect both nature and people. Guillaume Menet, director of Passiphile, shared his experiences in passive construction, helping redefine how we live in harmony with nature.

Les Rencards du Beau also opened crucial discussions on decarbonization ambitions in construction and luxury hospitality, led by Johanna Wagner, a hospitality consultant.

Finally, enriching reflections were made on the “cosmopoliteness” of beauty with Hélène Aguilar, founder of the podcast “Où est le beau ?“, and on the fascinating role of fungi in creating beauty in our world, thanks to insightful contributions from Guillaume Lopez, a self-taught mycologist and founder of Zenno Nature.

#1 – Les Rencards du Beau at Studio Chloé Nègre : Pierre Gilbert discusses the spiral in living forms

The PLENDI team is honored to announce its participation in the rebirth of this jewel of the world hotel industry that is the Carlton Cannes located on the famous Boulevard de la Croisette.

Inaugurated in 1912 and partly listed as a historical monument, the hotel had not undergone any major renovation since 2007 and needed to be transformed to maintain its status as an icon of the French Riviera hotel industry.

PLENDI is very proud to have participated in this huge project, the rebirth of this jewel of the world hotel industry that is the Carlton Cannes.

In detail, this represents 45,000m² of renovation or construction, including:

1 conference room of 800m²
1 exceptional garden with Mediterranean scents bordered by a peristyle

The new Maison de beauté CARITA, delivered by PLENDI on August 17, opened its doors on October 3, after 10 months of work and a complete restructuring of its mythical address at 11 rue Faubourg Saint Honoré.

It is a real rebirth of the CARITA brand through this historic flagship which represents the symbol of the L’Oréal Group and French know-how.

 

The architects Cristiano Benzoni and Sophie Thuillier of REV Studio, created a new design for the 1800 m2 building on 5 levels. The Maison de beauté has a 13-metre glazed atrium punctuated by 777 discs that enhance the natural light, 11 beauty suites, an 85m2 top-of-the-range hair salon with its private suite and a beauty of 130m². The arch, emblematic symbol of this place and strong image of the brand is deployed as the common thread of the decorative project.

 

The interior decoration reflects a feminine and luminous atmosphere. The identity of each treatment cabin is given by the marbles: Pink Onyx, Black Marquina marble, Tiffany Quartzite.

 

All the elements making up the historic character of the building have been preserved: the facade Faubourg Saint Honoré Street, the interior facade, the entrance porch and the stairwells.

Located at the corner of François Premier Street and Avenue Montaigne in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, Dior boutique has had a makeover.

PLENDI by VINCI Construction teams had the pleasure of participating in the rehabilitation of the historic Dior boutique, located at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris.

 

At the corner of rue François Ier and avenue Montaigne, there is a Dior boutique on two levels, a restaurant, a pastry shop, three gardens, and a museum, “Galerie Dior”, retracing the epic of Christian Dior , renovated haute couture workshops and a jewelry workshop.

 

The architect Peter Marino created this new universe of the store, a contrast between heritage and modernity, declined throughout the 10 000 m2 thanks to the association of more than one hundred different materials, from stone to precious fabrics or iconic Versailles parquet floor.

 

The Galerie Dior, a vast space of 2 000 m2, the scenography designed by Nathalie Crinière, presents almost 75 years of history of the Maison Dior. It exhibits iconic pieces from collections preserved as they are and an exceptional collection of nearly 1 500 miniaturized objects from the Dior universe designed in 3D printing.

PLENDI was the partnet of 3rd edition of Hôtel & Lodge Meetings & Awards that was held the 24th March in Pavillon Cambon Capucines in Paris.

Hôtel & Lodge Meetings & Awards brought together professionals from the luxury hotel sector, architects, decorators and suppliers, who had the opportunity to meet and discuss about their projects and challenges in the business.

On the agenda for the day was the Hotel and Heritage conference: how to value tradition through modernity? with Stéphane Vrot Director of Operations of PLENDI, the architects Jean-Philippe Nuel, Aline Asmar D’Amman and Dominique Roitel, CEO Henryot & Cie. The discussion focused on the issues implemented to protect buildings with a history and of course the value of the French touch.

The day ended with the Awards ceremony which rewarded the best hotels of the year in 9 categories: Prestige, Well-being, Architect, Chef, Lodge, Charming residence, Design, Resort, Special hotel award & lodge green. There were 100 nominated hotels.

The PLENDI team has begun to work on the reconstruction of the CARITA Beauty House located at 11 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.

 

The CARITA brand, which was inaugurated in 1945 by Maria and Rosy CARITA, belongs to the L’Oréal group which wants to highlight this place, symbol of the brand’s heritage and give it a new image.

 

The project was designed by REV Architecture studio and consists of a complete refurbishment of 1,800 m2 on 6 levels.

 

The End of the project is scheduled for 2022.

Located at 30 avenue George V in the 8th arrondissement of the capital, the first Parisian Bulgari hotel opened its doors on December 2, 2021.

 

The PLENDI by VINCI Construction teams led the transformation of the original building, previously an office building in the 1970s, in a 5-star hotel.

 

Designed by the architectural firm Valode & Pistre and the decoration by the Italian firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the hotel has 76 rooms and suites, furnished with great taste and richness. High-end quality and finishes are found in Arabescato marble, Vicenza stone or Lison de Caunes straw marquetry.

 

On the roof of the hotel, the premises offer a splendid penthouse on two floors and with a surface area of ​​more than 1,000 m2, including 400 m2 of interior spaces and 600 m2 of exterior space, offering a 360 ° view of the monuments the most emblematic of Paris.

 

In addition, the hotel offers a 1,300 m2 spa and two levels with a 25-metre swimming pool, a hammam clad in Aphyon d’Antalya white marble and an ice fountain carved out of an imposing block of black granite.

 

The Bulgari Paris Hotel is the 7th hotel of the famous jewelry house after Milan, Bali, London, Beijing, Dubai and Shanghai.
