In early 2015, QNB Capital, supported by JLL, awarded the contract to VINCI Construction France to structurally renovate a building located at the corner of Boulevard Malesherbes and Place de la Madeleine in Paris. The purpose of the project was to convert the mixed-use (office, residential and retail) building into a hotel, without decoration, meeting all the requisite criteria for a 5-star establishment.

In the second half of 2016, FAUCHON and hotel operator Esprit de France called on project manager DTACC Architecture and PLENDI to decorate the hotel in accordance with the building’s features.

“In this joint endeavour, PLENDI demonstrated its expertise in high added value works, the responsiveness of its teams and network of artisans, its proactive anticipation of the operator’s expectations, and its adaptability in integrating key modifications.”

The hotel will have 54 rooms, including 22 suites, and be positioned as a benchmark 5-star Paris hotel. It will open in 2018.

This operation entails rehabilitation of the existing wine cellars built in 1838, which are inscribed in the general inventory of national cultural heritage, together with construction of a new, 1,000 sq. m., building housing luxury shops and the wellbeing space. Works started in September 2016 and will continue for 21 month. ERTIM is the architect and is responsible for interior architecture. APCH provides client-side assistance to the project owner.

Opening of the hotel is scheduled for June 2018, 130 years after the birth, in Cognac, of Jean Monnet, one of the founding fathers of Europe, whose family has owned the cellars since 1898.
